A quick note before we begin:
May often feels like standing in two seasons at once.
Many of us feel excited about what’s ahead while also feeling exhausted by everything they are carrying right now. There is pressure to “finish strong” while also trying to protect yours and your students joy, curiosity, and peace.
If this season feels full academically, emotionally, or logistically, we want to remind you that your child does not need perfection in order to grow — you and your students need room to breathe. Your student needs adults who notice their effort, opportunities to rest, create, expose and learn in ways that feel meaningful.
Hear us when we say: You are doing better than you think you are.
This month, do not underestimate the power of simple things. Reading together on the couch? That matters. Slowing down to notice your child’s interests? That matters. Allowing learning to happen outside of worksheets? Surprise! That too, matters. Protecting wonder in a world that often ruses childhood? Matters.
Summer does not need to be packed in order to be meaningful. Some of the most impactful learning happens in the quiet moments we often overlook.
